WhatsApp is free instant messaging application similar to BBM works for iPhone. Both communicating parties need to have this application installed to exchange instant messages.
WhatsApp has friend status feature (i,e “I’m busy right now”) that has push notification telling you when your contact’s status changes and what they are up to (like facebook)
I will install it and let you know about it; I’m concerned about battery usage!

Welcome! I agree with wiht about BB ‘coz BBM comes in by deafult plus almost everyone is convinced that messaging is BB thing only … Just like MP3 is an iPod thing

U r right they have BB version as well but for the time being the can’t talk to each other (iPhone can’t talk to BB) … Strange! However, they r working on this
