Tourist attraction – The Qurain martyrs house

Posted by brownsuger on March 13th, 2010 at 10:32 am

It’s an awesome place to visit. Its conceder also a historical place, it’s where the final battle happened between the Kuwaiti resistance and the Iraqi invaders before Iraq lost the war and forced out of Kuwait.

Location of the martyr’s house is difficult but I’ll try: Al-Qosor when you’re on King Fahad high way take exit that says Al-Qosor & Mubarak Al-Kabeer, take the traffic light right and follow the singes.

Visiting house: All week long from 9 am till 12 the from 4:30pm till 7:30

Better to go when there is sunlight Miss Farah was a bit spooked out because it got dark

Visiting the martyr’s house gives a mix feeling of remembering the awful days of the invasion and pride for what Kuwait martyrs (Heroes) did to free our country.

I found this nice forum that tell the story of the batter and the names of the martyrs click here for that

Also I found this post about the martyr’s house at Frankom blog

I live in “Fereej Alshohada”, and I posted this on Marks blog (248am.com) a few weeks ago
Thought some of your readers may find it helpful!

5 simple steps to get to the the Memorial museum in Qurain:
    1. take the King Fahad highway heading south
    2. once you reach Shabhan bridge -> go up & left
    3. turn right before reaching/at the traffic lights
    4. 1st roundabout -> straight ahead, 2nd roundabout -> go left, 3rd roundabout -> go right
    5. take the 1st left turn -> Qurain memorial museum!

    Intrance is free…
but you gotta bribe the security guy (1KD) if you want him to open the gates to the Soviet/Iraqi enriched-uranium-polluted tank, for your kids to take some picture they’ll never forget!

    you read it right, enriched-uranium!

    Correction…
There actually isn’t an exit that would say “AlQosour & Mubarak AlKabeer!”
Al Qurain Gov. is devided into 4 smaller areas, arranged from north to south… AlAdan – AlQosour – AlQurain – Mubarak AlKabeer
with exits and entrances between them… you probably meant the AlQurain & Mubarak AlKabeer exit

Thsnk brownsugar for giving your time to write about this great place, it annoys me alot when the media seem to let go all of this horribole past, like saying il’3azu il9adami! No it is al’3azo AL3ERAQI ! it was not olnly by saddam’s will but all of the iraqi people (though some of them who were living in kuwait stood by our side and died for kuwait but they are FEW) and i also to say that there was A7DATH 9arat bel kuwat! No you must say il’3azo il3eraqi for the sake of this soil that sucked all of our tears and blood.. for the sake of all the people who were turtured, raped, humiliated, taken as prisoners and almost all of them died..

i wrote all of this coz i also remembersd when i was watching (a5er man ya3lam) on mbc1 there was 6areq il3ali and manna shalabi, when he was asked the reason why he imitates iraqi character in his plays he replied with a very silly answer i swear if i was in the audience i would slap him on the face with pleasure! i hate you 6areq inta walla bs 7achi i dono why ur afraid of the media! go6i maga3ad 5afeef o ragla o ham mat3aref tetkalam 3an lekwait mithil lawadim! i hate u!

      Tosta you are welcome (^_^)
People all around the world know how nice and kind Kuwaiti people are, but they shouldn’t think our memories are short. Yes we have the courage and strength to rise above our wounds and try to close the crack that happened between us and the Iraqis. But as the famous Kuwaiti saying “kel 6rag beta3loma”=”every slap on the face is a lesson” thank god we got our vengeance what could we ask for more except to be careful not to be stabbed in the back again.

yes you are right but i’d rather keep the crack open and never close again! the iraqi invasion with all it crimes committed in Kuwait is unforgivable and it is so rude to see others asking us to let go of all that and start a new blank page.. Let iraq solve it’s own mess it is not our problem wallah! o chan zen ebayen eb3enhum la2 yaklon mn 5erna o esebona!
