Do you know Deer & Dear ??

I was at the Avenues last night and this big poster catch my attention. At first i thought it’s an Abercronbie & Fitch ad then i saw the Deer then i read what was written on it in Arabic and it says ” First Kuwaiti trade mark registered world wide ” but the ad didn’t say what does this brand sells or is it opened in the Avenues or not.

I wish the Kuwaiti owner the best of luck but i don’t think it was a good idea to choose a Deer as a logo for a Kuwaiti brand AND no i’m NOT suggesting a Camel tongue :D

So if you have any information about this Kuwaiti brand please let us know, thank you.

Bouky (wallet) trail service

Bouky (that’s in the Kuwaiti dialog) meas “Wallet” is a new service in trail phase provided only by NBK, Zain and VISA, where you can pay for your purchases by your mobile phone. This service is provided commercially in Japan and some other countries.

As it’s only in trail phase here in Kuwait until September it is only provided in the Avenues Mall in Al-Shaya stores, IKEA and Cinescape.

Don’t worry about security there is a pin code just like a K-Net debt card and a service hot line if you lose your phone. Oh yes by the way currently it only works on one phone so that’s a disadvantage but it’s only temporarily until iphone developer come up with a appe.

At the store who provide this service you will find the device below displayed at the casher table.

2010 World Cup Jerseys @ Soccer Scene

Just found out that soccer scene have just started receiving 2010 World Cup jerseys. Currently teams Brazil, England, France, Spain, and Mexico are available for 24 KWD each. Except Mexico, all of them are available in home and away jerseys … Other teams are expected soon :)

Smart parking at the Avenues mall

If you enter the Avenues parking lot next to Magic planet and under Dean & Deluca, you will find LED parking indicators so that you would know if this parking raw has an empty space for your car to park (green is empty, red is occupied and blue is for special needs).

Now remember its only 1 section of the Avenues parking lot not all of the parking.

Baby Fatayer From Dean & Deluca: Review

I think that I saw their baby fatayer before Ramadan! But that spinach looked so yummy … and that pomegranate syrup glazed meat whispered into my ears … !

Taste wise all of them were good but I would go with the big fatayers; they taste better than the baby ones and fluffier. All their baby ones cost .200 fils each except that sesame horse shoe like costs (with dates) .400 fils

Office Depot at The Avenues: 1st Impression

While in The Avenues I decided to stop by Office Depot to check it out. The stuff members were nice, informative, and helpful.

Though you will find some cool little things, the place and products were average and most of their products are available in Kuwait market.

What I like about it, that you may get all your office supplies in one organized place with excited staffs :)

Avenues Mall (KUWAIT) Mosque Design

One of our readers (Thank you Annu :) ) forwarded this mail to us; it’s about Masjid “Mosque” design at the Avenues Mall, Kuwait. The design was created by famous architect  Zaha Hadid

What a coincident! I was at the Avenues last Tuesday and people were complaining about how the prayers’ room is small where many people were standing outside waiting their turns; I was one of them. One of the angry men said he went to the management asking them to build a full Masjid and they need to stop collecting money.
