We had 7 days euro road trip last week, we start in Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Zurich, then back to Frankfurt. in between, we made some stops in towns found on our route. the original plan was to stopped by Austria and France but could not make it due to time and intention to have maximum 4h driving per day in order to enjoy the day before sunset.
The trip was short with max 2 nights in any city; this is my 1st trip to Europe for vacation beside the road trip experience. The whole idea came out of nowhere after was told about Emirates Airlines offer back in August. It was nice trip which we enjoyed, driving distance felt very easy and entertaining; technology made everything simple, just make to sure to have decent GPS + mobile phone with data card to view Google Maps and use other social media for recommendations and local attractions.
