Dubai Armani Hotel experience <3

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Its an exciting post for me :) so last weekend i was in Dubai, who was following the blog on Twitter and/or Instagram know ;)

For fun of it i booked at the Armani Hotel Dubai  if you don’t know it it’s the hotel at the entrance of Burj Khalifa (the tallest standing structure in the world).

I arrived Friday early morning and was at the Armani about 10:30 am there was a choice of having the hotel pick me up from the airport by a Bentley  but that would cost A.D. 500 so i didn’t go with since i payed a lot for the room :/

As we entered we were greeted, our luggage cared and seated for check-in were the check-in procedure really took long because we came too early :/ so about 11 am we entered our room

Everything in the hotel is Armani design i’m not talking about the staff uniform and talking about chaser, spoons lights, rugs perfumes everything (o_O)

The room was so stylish (of course) where i think there was a Japanese inspiration or influence where the TV, Minibar, closet and bathroom doors are sliding doors just like the Japanese architectural.

Upon check-in we were assigned a lifestyle manager that take care of all our needs (a fancy way to say butler :P ) he gave us his number to call him anytime if we needed anything and she explained the features of the room.

I love the Armani bathroom i don’t i have a thing for fancy bathroom. In the shower the water come from around the sealing light so when the water hits you you light up amazing.

Also during our stay we used Armani Spa and the treatment was so pampering (دلع) i didn’t want it to finish.

What’s great about the Armani is not just the design or facilities, the staff were very nice and the location is just perfect if you want to go shopping at Dubai mall it’s a 2 minute walking distance, even for business its great and the restaurants are waaaw, we had lunch at the Japanese restaurant there called “Hashi”  we were seated at the tiers in front of Dubai mall fountain. By the way Hashi means Chop Sticks in Japanese :)

The experience was amazing almost perfect if it wasn’t for the delay we faced at check-in. I highly  recommend the Armani you should try it out or try their restaurants.

Cool design @ the Salad boutique

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

I’ve been hanging out at the salad boutique for the last week, kinda like it now :) that one at the Avenues, i observed that interiors design of the boutique and saw the dinning utensils in the concrete floor of the restaurant and i thought they dropped down and no one had paid attention.

I was just about to call the waitress to pick them up but then i thought hummm something is funny about those utensils then Oh! it hit me they’re part of the floor :/

Look cool i like it took the pic to share it with you guy :)

I want to be held in “This” Police Station [Design]

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Some one at the German Architect firm Gesamtkonzept must have thought “Why don’t we build good looking police stations?!” and so they did. This mobile police station is now stationed in front of the Turkish consulate  in Hanover, Germany.

I’m trying to imagine the local version of it… Chabra maybe? GMC Astro Van? a Desk under a tree? or better yet non at all. lol.

Qatar to build artificial cloud drones for its World Cup event?!

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

Well, it just struck me as  just plainly… insane?!

Qatar is apparently taking the World Cup thing too seriously to say the least, but its quite ingenious really. Imagine this, a Dr. Saud Abdul Ghani and his team came up with a concept of artificial “clouds” to hover over some of the main stadiums hosting the tournament to cool temperatures down… well.. it’s… I don’t know what to call it really, imagine stadium sized structures hovering over your heads,I know, creepy, but wouldn’t that be something? Way to go Qatar! ;)

World’s Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Hotels are a great place to saty in when travelling. Some people like to rent appartments or crash at a friend’s place which is fine, but nothing beats having breakfast buffet, room service, and many other facilities. Although this is way over my budget (just looking at those prices is like punches to the stomach with a kick in the……you know what I mean guys! :D ). The only thing I can do is admire the pictures and hear the stories of those who have experienced the luxury of these hotels, I shall list them anyway. By the way, they are in no ranking order, but I decided to list them alphabetically. Here goes: (Source: Yahoo! Uk & Ireland Travel)

1. The Atlantis, Bahamas

The pic is of the Bridge Suite, overlooks the marina. Ten rooms at your disposal, including two bedrooms, a living room and dining room. You’ll also have your own private kitchen, which comes with its own chef, butler and other staff. Also, there’s an entertainment centre with bar and piano. And of course, walk-in closets that are bigger than many one-bedroom apartments. Cost: £14,500 per night.

2. Burj Al Arab, Dubai

With its distinctive “billowing sail” design, its position on its own man-made island and reputation for being just a smidgeon shorter than the Empire State Building (1,053 feet high), the Burj Al Arab certainly looks the part. And with its glittery gold, Versace-designed decor and underwater restaurant that is reached by submarine, it certainly has the wow factor. Book one of the Royal Suites and you’ll be whisked to the hotel by Rolls-Royce from the airport, where you’ll enjoy your own private cinema, rotating bed and whirlpool bath with Hermes bath products. Plus your own butler to tend to your every need. Cost: £11,800 per night.

3. Four Seasons, New York

Four Seasons

Aaah, the Big Apple, very rarely do I see it portrayed as posh, but this takes the cake. Book the Ty Warner Penthouse, with boasting floor-to-ceiling windows offering a 360-degree view of Manhattan. The suite comes with its own indoor-outdoor Zen garden, infinity-edge bathtub and private spa. The suite includes the services of a personal trainer/therapist to help you work off those calories. Not to mention your own personal butler, and private chauffeur to ensure you get to wherever you need to go in your choice of Rolls-Royce or Mercedes Maybach. Cost: £23k per night.

4. Ritz-Carlton, Moscow

Furnished with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Kremlin, Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral, you’d be hard pressed to find a more amazing view. Add on the marble baths, living room with grand piano and beautiful Russian imperial furnishings and you’ll certainly feel immersed in luxury – plus you’ll enjoy up to five meals a day. Cost: £10,500 per night.

5. The Westin Excelsior, Rome

Westin Excelsior Rome

The Villa La Cupola suite, located on the fifth and sixth floors of the Westin Excelsior hotel, overlooks the Via Veneto and gets its name from the 12m-high, hand-frescoed cupola (domed roof) it is situated beneath. Further Roman touches can be found in the Pompeiian style Jacuzzi, complete with mosaic floors and frescoed walls. The suite also offers a private cinema, fitness room, sauna and steam bath, plus of course the 24-hour butler service and private limo airport transfers. What’s more, you’ll also have access to the suite’s private wine cabinet, with over 150 wines to choose from (personally wine ain’t my cup-o-tea, so I’ll skip that!).  Cost: £20,400 per night.

So fellas, how do you feel after that swift kick?! OUCH!!)

The Invisible Tree House!!

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Didn’t believe it at first, but yes….it is real. Looks like something out of a sci-fi movie (the music of 2001: A Space Odyssey tongue)!! It was designed and built by Swedish company  Tham & Videgard.

One thing I like about the Swedes is their creative architecture. Its different, simple, practical, and beautiful like this tree house. Some criticized the design with the potential to harm birds since they won’t see it :D

I can forsee the military implementing this in the futrue (if they haven’t already!). Frankly, I find it absolutely beautiful, especially with the reflections and……….I leave you with the pictures.

Urban Waterfall for 2016 Rio Olympics

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

The project is called The Solar City Tower and designed by RAFAA Architecture & Design. The main purpose of this tower is power generating for the olympic village as well as the city of Rio using a large solar system to provide green power for day “solar” and night “water”.

GCC countries  should do this kind of projects. In Kuwait, we should utilize the deserted green island for something useful.
