Leaving Kuwait (@_@) !?!?!? Why?

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

Picture taken from m7mdghazi

Some times when i’m talking to people and we’er discussing different issues about traveling many are expressing their intention to leave Kuwait for good and those thought are increasing! and i’m talking about Kuwaitis and the funny thing is long term expats don’t want to leave Kuwait, will not all of them, but that feeling among expats is increasing. Its really ironic!

I understand that some are depressed from the political, financial, econometric, educational and even social problems but where to go? Every country on the face of the earth have these problems and more.

As fare as i know the middle east is in the best situation comparing with the rest of the world  (humm let’s keep it just Kuwait).

I’m not apposing the idea 100% sometimes you just don’t get the fair opportunity where you live so you need the change but the people (Kuwaitis) i’ve been talking to didn’t demonstrate to me strong reason to leave Kuwait. It wasn’t because they didn’t find a job or didn’t get good medical care or wasn’t socially treated right or they didn’t have the freedom of expressing or they where suppressed.

I think some people are taken the easy way out just running form their problems where we should face them and fix them. In the end some will lead a successful life abroad but  the majority will be like this picture below :)

رمضان – Ramadan

I’m taking this opportunity to talk about Ramadan and shed some basic information about it to my fellow muslims, non-muslims, and converts/reverts, so here goes.

What is Ramadan and what’s so special about it?

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, where it was chosen that fasting is obligatory by God “as it was upon those before you”. This refers to the divine religions before Islam which are Christianity (such as Lent) and Judaism (for example Yom Kippur), who also perform a period of fasting.

Fasting of course is one of the 5 pillars of Islam, and whether it is compulsory (during Ramadan) or preferably (the rest of the year), fasting begins from sunrise to sunset. During this time, eating, drinking, and sexual activities are prohibited.

Note: The Arabic word for fasting is “si-yam”, where the first syllable is pronounced as in the word “sit”, and the “a” in the second syllable is pronounced as in the word “calm”.

Why fast…I mean, come on, what benefit do you gain?!

Back in 2007 I traveled to Japan to study Japanese in a language center at Tokyo for 2 weeks, for I love Japanese culture.

In a very short period I made many friends there in a very divers class. There was students from Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Australia, USA, Iran, France, UK, Germany, Canada and Kuwait :D

We used to go out after class is over and enjoy our Japan experience … we really had a blast ;)

One day we were at our friends apartment, Thomas from Switzerland, with Shawn from Korea, Miho from Japan and Me from Kuwait ;D

We were trying to pronounce the hardest words in every body’s langue which were German (for the Swiss), Korean and Arabic. I got my friends Arabic try on tape ;)

I really didn’t want to release the video I conceder it very privet, but I hope you enjoy it :)
