The last time i visited in Sharjah was in 2005, actually, that was during my 2nd visit ever to the UAE since 1991. To do something different than being in Dubai going from mall to another, we decided visit Al-Sharjah. Unlike Dubai, Sharjah is more conservative, quiet, and family oriented. We wanted to stop by Sharjah’s Islamic museum but we preferred more kids orientated place. We ended up going to their Al-Majaz Waterfront which is an expansion of exsiting legendary park. Beside cafes and restaurants, it has jogging track, picnic areas, day care centre, sculpture and art parks, splash park and Mini Golf course. The new place is amazing for family chill out; i like ALWAN center concept. it has professional team specilized in kids learning and talent development, they arrange many activities like arts and crafts, origami, piano lessons, yoga, story-telling, jewelry-making, pottery, planting, cooking … etc In addition, it equiped modern play area divided into two age groups sections.

Later we headed to Al-Qasba for dinner. although, they have kids area and rides but kids were very tired to do anything else so we went directly for dinner. Al-Qasba is another nice place to dine or to experience Eye of The Emirates, ferris wheel. Al-Qasba also known entertainment, cultural and art events. In case you want a change from Dubai experience while still looking for good quality time with family, taking quick trip to Sharjah is recommended. [Pictures via khaleejtimes & emirates247]
