However, We were told current version in Kuwait market does not support Arabic as input language but it can read fine. It supports flash and has nice touch screen. For great full review, check engadget

What is the Micro SIM card?

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Wataniya Telecom announce that they provide the mirco sim

When you buy a new mobile phone line you receive a SIM card to insert it in your mobile phone. SIM stands for (Subscriber Identity Module) and was made in 1991 a small chip that purpose is to hold information.

The SIM comes in 3 sizes:

(1) the credit card 85.6 mm X 53.98 mm X 0.76 mm

(2) the mini SIM card 25 mm X 15 mm X 0.76 mm

(3) the micro SIM card 15 mm X 12 mm X 0.76 mm

The Micro SIM also is called 3FF (third Form Factor) where the mini SIM is the second form factor.

The Mini and Micro SIM cards are identical but the micro SIM was made so that it could be fitted in smaller handsets.

Although it’s not a small handset but Apple new device “iPad” is supporting the micro SIM.

The old generation of SIM cards only supports name and number for the address book where the current new generation supports multi numbers, emial address and more for one name.

So that’s it for “what is the Micro SIM” every body is talking about :)

Chinese iPad Clone Powered by Android

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Who did not see that coming? If you look for cheap iPad, then Moonse’s new E-7001 tablet might be it with cost about $130.

It is 7-inch touchscreen, a 600MHz Rockchip RK2808 ), Android 1.5 for an OS, an SD card slot for storage, built-in WiFi, and a promised five hours of battery life. Though it slight thicker than  Apple’s iPad, it weights as much as the iPad. What’s more, it has a front-facing camera and a USB port, SD slot, and there will be another version with 3G … yet, not information about type of supported SIM.

Though I’m not an iPad fan since I don’t see any use for it in my life except for bathroom reading! Yet, I would still buy the original iPad rather than the Chinese version. I will be looking into the support Apple would provide for  their products plus experiences of everyone out there; this what makes the difference.

Let’s WePad

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

WePad is new tablet PC by a German maker. Some people claimed “it’s the iPad killer”, however, the maker promises more sophisticated technology and system’s openness than Apple iPad.

Comparing with iPad, WePad comes with bigger screen, webcam, wifi chip, and 2 USB ports to allow connecting other devices like keyboard, data sticks … etc. WePad is powered by Intel chip and running a Linux which is compatible with Google’s Android and all Flash applications … Apple has issue with Adobe and flash! WePad is expected to hit the market late July 2010
